Hey all, just purchased a saddle which was advertised as a vintage saddle with unknown maker and an unknown latigo number. Upon receiving the saddle and inspecting it I found a stamp on both stirrups marked Lloyd Newell (possibly Nevell???), Colorado Saddlery. The latigo is marked with the letter "S" and the numbers 072 ( S 072) I have not found any other identifying marks on the saddle. The saddle weighs 39 pounds. I called Colorado Saddlery and they said it could be a "Signature" saddle, however the "Signature" saddles I've seen in my research do not have the same latigo markings that this one does. I have not been able to find information on Lloyd Newell either. This is my first saddle so I don't know much about them, but I would think that Lloyd Newell was possibly a saddle dealer who sold Colorado Saddlery Saddles. Didn't buy it thinking it was a brand name saddle but now that I've found the markings I would like to know more about it, would also like to know value. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks,Aaron.
