Greetings! Quick little post, but wanted to know if anyone had any experience in doing something. I have a pair of leather boots that are to small for my feet.
They look like.

What I am wondering about doing is cutting them where they meet the actual shoe. (or removing the stitching) and basicly creating a pair of leather "greaves." Way to light to be actual armor but I don't have the money to buy a pair of actual riding boots, and just want to simulate the look. I was going to cut the stiching in the back, resew it together, and then make them lace with a series of eye lets so it would tie up tight in the back and just wear them over a pair of normal black boots.
Any thoughts or should I juse skip it for now and get a pair of actual boots made?
::cringes at the thought of the price with his size seventeen feet::
Thanks!
Any help or recomendations would be helpful.
Also its to simulate a pair of musketeer boots that don't fold down. That will come in time. I just need a pair for a few weekends that would "simulate" the part.
Thanks!.
