Thanks for the help!

Some folks want a gun or shell belt for cowboy action shooting, backed with suede or chap split so it doesn't slide around on the body as easily. Any of you that's built them like that, how do you give the finished belt a good oiling and not get oil on the lining. I come from the school of using a swatch of shearling and a bowl with oil in it and applying liberally to a new project. Maybe I have to change my ways? Thanks in advance for your help.
