  1. Hey leatherworker friends! Ok I'm new to the leather world and in already making fire helmet shields. I would really love to make radio straps but ordering the leather has been a hard task for me. I would like the leather straps to be around 60". And I plan on making atleast 8 radio straps. How would I go about ordering the leather as far as square footage ?? Help would be much appreciated
  2. Thanks to all for the replies. B shift I probably will go with 8 to 9 oz. and make them an inch and a half wide. And for me I love a radio strap because it is easier to use. I always put mine on under my air pack so the entanglement hazard is mitigated
  3. So ive been making leather frontals for fire helmets. I am wanting to take on radip straps and other straps for firefighting. But before i went and ordered leather i wanted to know what is the best size leather for making straps? I was thinking 9-10 ounce maybe but not sure. Any input would be greatly appreaciated
