  1. I am making some book covers and I just want to oil them then set them out in the sun to oxidize and get that Chesnut color but the problem is it's cloudy and the forcast calls for clouds the next few days. Is there any way to get the same results without having any sun?
  2. I am still pretty new to the whole leather work stuff, but one the best cheap homemade tools I came up with was buying a set of semi-cheap wood chisels. The set has chisels from 1/2" to 1-1/2". I sharpened them on a a rough and fine diamond stones then polished on an Arkansas stone, then hit it on my strop. They make great cutting tool for cutting out slots for stuff like belt slots on holsters, just punch two holes and use them to connect the holes.
  3. Thanks Wild Bill that is exactly what I needed.
  4. I am kinda new to this awesome hobby. I've getting the hang of carving and tooling, even made a couple of knife sheaths, a holster and a few other thing, but now I'm gonna try my hand at dying. I have used Tandy's antique gel stains and had what I think are good results but those are pretty simple. I want to do some different colors on a Celtic cross design. From what I have seen on YouTube I need some small paintbrushes. If anyone has any tips to make it easier I would greatly appreciate it. Also what is the easiest way to clean those brushes or do I just have to throw them away and get new ones for each project?
