I'm starting on a pancake holster and thought of something that I don't know if it would matter. Does the direction of the grain matter in relation to the reinforcement piece? Should the grains in the two pieces be opposite of each other?

Thanks for the tip. I was trying to connect the ends, but overlapping them makes it soooo much nicer. I have enough leather for another holster and will definitely do that the next time. BTW I have seen a lot your work on another forum and think you do great work. Someday I hope to get that good.

Almost finished with my first holster. Just have to burnish the edges but waiting on my burnisher to get here. How did I do?
