Thanks guys. Being a maintenance engineer I'll find it hard to not modify it.

I've just picked up a Juki lu563, i want to know what is the maximum size thread i can run through 6mm (just under 1/4")of veg tanned leather? I've read here #138 is max at 3/8" of leather, can i get away with thicker thread through 6mm of leather?
