  1. I found a PDF manual for the machine under it's original Highlead model GC0618-1/-SC. http://www.highlead.com.cn/uploadfiles/20190704123201125.pdf EDIT: uploaded file here in case it disappears one day. Highlead GC0618-1-SC.pdf
  2. These are the machine listings from the dealer. https://americanleatherworks.com/collections/leather-machines/products/cobra-class-18-needle-feed-walking-foot-machine-upholstery https://americanleatherworks.com/collections/leather-machines/products/cobra-class-18-needle-feed-walking-foot-machine-1 I did reach out to the dealer to find out what the difference is. This was the answer " The Machine for Upholstery has been modified and optimized for sewing through drapery and other upholstery materials such as canvas. These modifications are as follows. No Speed Reducer, Modified needle and walking foot timing, and different feet for upholstery. The description didn't make it clear that the upholstery machine had so many changes I don't think the changes sound like they will be worthwhile even with the lower price. I am going to go with a different dealer and a Factory standard Cobra Class 18. I don't have a lot of experience with machines and don't want to deal with a machine that isn't factory standard and will be harder to troubleshoot if needed. I appreciate your words of wisdom
  3. I am looking at buying a flatbed sewing machine for doing some wallets and canvas bags. I think the Cobra Class 18 sounds like a good choice for the jobs. America Leatherworks is selling 2 different machines in their web listings. The 1st is an upholstery machine. The second says it's a leather machine. There listings sound like the same machine. I don't see anyone else including Leather Machine listing separate machines. I plan on using it for both. Do I need to outfit it differently for the 2 different materials? Has anyone purchased a machine through this seller?
