It's been quite awhile since I've done leather work but I'm going to start again. I have a Cape Buffalo hide that I'm going to make a rifle case or two out of. The problem I have is...the leather was tanned a bit thinner than I want and is very soft. So I'd like to back it up with some other leather and then a soft liner...some synthetic I would think. So I'm wondering just what to use and should I attach the backing leather with rubber cement or some type of glue...then the padding/liner? Thanks.
