  1. Hi all! yes I used tap water. got the message :D next time distilled water it is :D I did buy aniline dye from a leather resealer and it was gross sold as leather dye. I dissolved it with hot water, this time around I didn't even add cold water, it was almos 1 litter of boiled water into a portion of black aniline dye (50 grams I would say). I couldnt find anywhere the portions to water ratio. It was raw leather . since I'm a newbie I dont know what is the diference between veg tan or other. anyway, I wipped the white powder of and gave it a finish, lets see how it turns out. thanks! Henrique
  2. Hello, I've dyed my leather with aniline black dye dissolved in water. after it dryed some of the pieces presented a crystal like white powder. This happened in the second and third dying process. Has anyone come across this issue? Can I just wipe the powder and apply the finish(aquos lacquer)? thanks in advance! Henrique
  3. Hi all! I seem to have a similar problem. Did a black aniline powder mix with hot water first and then added more cold water in order to immerse the leather. The result was a dark blue as stated above. Do you think the mix was too watery? What steps can i take to make it black black? Can I do a vinagroon dip with the leather as is and kinda forget the first de process? or should I do more 2 dyes as recommended above? Thank you!
