Looks like you have a very good handle on it. I just started the leather stuff this spring. Made a motorcycle tool bag (first project), then designed and made an oversized sissybar bag to fit 2 full-face helmets with stamping to match the saddle bags on the bike when I bought it. Most recently, an arrow quiver with ideas from designs off the internet. Looking at re-doing the bike seat over the winter. Anyway, I found that taking a couple leather work lessons at the local Tandy store, and also, their website has some very good how-to videos. Also, I googled the shit I was looking for in particular. Found a couple small suggestions that seemed to make a big difference in what I was doing.
