Hey all. im not exactly new to leatherworking. ive made pretty functional things so far. mostly sheaths. but they are very basic(my stitching could use a lot of work, though) i want to get more into the carving part of it all. i started out about a year and a half ago and made a dog collar for one of the pups. proud to say it held a Pyrenees/ st bernard mix for a year and a half until he died (nigh on 17 years old.) he was buried with it. it was my first attempt at actually tooling anything. and it turned out pretty decent id say. everything else ive done has been completely plain. just a sheath for this knife here, a belt there. simple stuff. no decoration. but then i had to leave for about a year (military) and i comletely stopped. picked it up again a few weeks ago. made another sheath. then havent messed with it since. but the urge is there. and i have a lot more free time now. some background. im from tennessee, currently in south carolina, im a Marine. and im pretty good with my hands (even if they shake a little for a young guy) and thats about it. so hey everybody. any tips on where to start would be appreciated. ive got pretty basic tool setup. i had one of the tandy leather kits, and ive bought some extra tools and whatnot. still dont have much though
