Thanks so much for the kind replies, I'm going to try and find that thread and learn more about this amazing technique. Particularly interesting way of using chrome tan with the glue, hopefully I find the thread!

Hi, I'm curious how this effect is achieved: http://millecuirs.deviantart.com/art/The-Bog-man-s-grimoire-653330304 Although it's not to my taste it gives me some ideas of my own, my guess is that it's very thin leather adhered to a textured backing- not sure if that's right? Thanks for any help, Mark
