  1. I have a pair of Gingher thread snips that I bought on Amazon after getting tired of other methods. Kind of expensive for what they do, around $20, but it is something I use constantly. It's comfortable and secure in the hand and I don't have to use my brain to get a perfect cut. Should be easy to hone, if it ever dulls. It might be too thick to get in and cut below flush, though.
  2. Yep those are regular old C. S. Osborne awls.
  3. I'm trying to find a website that sells the hexagonal awl blades. I see the custom tool makers on Instagram use them in their awls, such as Nash Anonymous, but I just want to try out a few of the blades without spending a fortune in custom awls. The manufacturer is described as "System S + U" in Germany, the awls come in diamond, oval, and a flat hexagonal profile in various widths. Made from HSS. Maybe there is a German equivalent of Tandy that sells these blades?
  4. I picked up some W&C English bridle to make a dog collar, and I was wondering how best to finish it, having never used bridle leather. It is very dry, definitely not the waxy stuff I was expecting. Before everyone says resolene, I don't like it and won't use it. The products I own are Montana Pitch-Blend, neetsfoot oil, carnauba creme, bag kote, and Wyosheen. My plan is to grease the heck out of it with MPB and buff with carnauba. I would like to use the Wyosheen, but I'm concerned it will get flakey under canine conditions. Any thoughts?
