  1. Thanks kgg! Great info! I just saw this. The juki 1341 was a factory rebuild at a reputable dealer. I did put my money down on a cobra class 26. I’ve been waiting for five weeks any sign of it shipping to me, but nothing yet. I’ll report back when/if I get it. Again thanks for you’re help!!
  2. S I finally pulled the trigger on a cobra class 26 machine 4 weeks ago but haven’t heard a thing. I know Covid screwed things up but does anyone have an inside scoop as to how far behind they’re at? Thanks
  3. Thanks kgg! So, what do you think a used rebuilt juki 1341 rebuild or a brand new Artisan? I have an artisan dealer 2 hours away. The juki I would have ship in.
  4. Hi all, Does anyone know anything about this machine? Have any experience with one? The literature says it can handle 207, but that’s all I know. What is this a clone of? Thanks all
  5. Hi all, I was sewing away when my machine begin to sluggishly pierce the leather and stitching changed size(got smaller) Anyway, I went thru the normal stuff and found the set screws on the feed dog eccentric came loose and eccentric(or shaft) spun taking the feed dog out of time with feed shaft.... so how do I place the eccentric in time with the shaft? There are two screws: one an Allen and one a slotted screw. I spun it by hand to figure out time and it looks like the Allen screw fits into the slot in the shaft. But now the machine is harder to spin by hand then before. It doesn’t feel right. So I took the feed dog and fork off and of course the machine spins freely. So I’ve narrowed it down to that eccentric not in time... where is the eccentric lobe supposed to be at its highest point in relation to the feed shaft? Thanks!!
  6. Hi all, where can I get a legitimate well made needle bar? I bought one off of eBay in desperation. I installed it and the needle hole is not plumb from the factory s I can’t center the needle in the vibrating presser foot left to right so when sewing , the thread frays on the foot. Thank you all in advance!
  7. im A total hobbyist beginner and I’m making a bag for my wife from some leather. I was wondering what do you do with the ends..... I guess I mean how do hide the knots? I have a machine with reverse stitch, I always tie the ends, do I need to? Or am I overdoing it? I’d like it to look nice for her and having a bit of a time hiding the knots on the finished piece. Thanks
  8. Hi all and happy holidays! I was just given a 153 B8B and it sews beautifully. I’d love to know some history on the machine and where to get parts in the event it’s ever needed. It looks very similar to the 111 series machines except with reverse and a cylinder arm. The info I’ve found online hasn’t really been informative. Any info would be really appreciated! Thanks, Dave
  9. Thank you! Exactly the info I was looking for!!!! Dave
  10. Hi all, I’m seeing wit a 111w155 and a 227r and have been using presser foot edge guides. I’ve recently been thinking about trying out a roller edge guide on my 227r. My query is this: does the roller edge guide give a better result in stitching? Is it worth spending the money to get one? It looks as if with a roller guide one can customize stitch spacing which is really nice, but does it have a more benefits over the presser foot that I don’t know about? Thanks again, Dave
  11. Hi all, I just acquired a 155 that was extremely neglected with 60% of all parts frozen solid in a combination of rust, oil and bad repaint ..... I took everything apart and have it all clean and oiled . One question I have is what exactly is the presser lifting eccentric (on the upper shaft) used for and Do I need to set it at a specificway while setting my timing? Right now I have it centered on the shaft and the eccentric itself reinstalled onto the shaft the correct way. My 153 doesn’t have an eccentric just a non adjustable cam.....Thanks, Dave
  12. This is interesting... everything works as it should. Well, at least, everything is moving.... used the naval literature and still is doing the same thing... at least the 5SPI is perfect... I can’t figure it out.. I keep wondering if the connecting rod is out or if the PO rotated the eccentric cam somehow. I don’t even know if that’s possible.... oh also, timing is spot on thanks! Hmmm ,Yetibelle, looking at the eccentric again, I wonder if the spring tension has worn , or maybe too tight....time to play.. I’ll report back to see if I get any changes playing with spring pressure....
  13. The issue is that if I move the the selector from 5SPI to 8 or 10 SPI the machine stitches 26SPI. If I put it back into 5SPI it’ll do 5SPI. So in effect I have 5SPI on “5” and 26SPI on everything else..
  14. Hi all, I have a 111w155 that I’ve owned for two years now..... when I bought it, it wouldn’t stitch... I cleaned timed adjusted and all has been well except that I could never get the stitch selector to ever work properly.... the PO has about 60 YouTube videos on trying to get the machine to stitch. I be watched a couple and assume he’s probably taken the selector apart since he took everything else apart as evident on the machine as well as his videos... eeesh!! Anyhow, I get perfect 5SPI . but when I place it on anything other than 5SPI I get 26 SPI. That is the only thing I did not adjust other then a slight snug on the gib since it was ready to fall out. The eccentric is working, I can see it. But I keep looking to see if it’s on backwards or rotated incorrectly but I really can’t tell. I do leather motorcycle seats and leather bags so the 5 SPI is perfect for the look I’m achieving. But I like my things to work the way they are supposed to. And since I’ve got a little lull, now is the time to finally fix this. Thanks all!
  15. Thank you Wizcrafts! That makes complete sense!! So on the presser lift there should be some type of eccentric that probably wore off and now is not pushing that push rod....
  16. Thanks for the quick response CowboyBob! Well I pulled off the tensioner bracket and used a magnet to pulled out the rod and the rod is intact... with a flashlight I looked in the hole and don’t see anything broken in there... it looks like it somehow connects to the foot lifting lever or the presser foot? What is the bar supposed to do/control?
  17. Hello everyone! I have a singer 111w153 and am absolutely in love with it.. I rebuilt , adjusted and retimed the entire machine and it runs perfectly! There is a two inch long tapered pin behind the tensioner that goes thru to the back of the machine and looks like some sort of a push rod.. There is also a spring loaded bracket that is screwed onto the tensioner plate that this push rod rests against. I took off the tensioner placed my finger on the push rod and spun the machine with my finger on it and there is absolutely no movement of this pin/pushrods. Also, what does the spring loaded bracket do? Just trying to know every aspect of this machine.. thanks all!
