thank you, my actual spools have thread size 15/3 and 40/3. Does it means they are size 15 and 40? the 15 is bigger than 40

Well met everybody I have searched for this topic on the forum and found nothing so I hope it is correct to start a new one: I have more than one stitching machine, I bought a batch of them from a closing small farm. I've never used them much because I don't know them well and I want to understand how to operate each one properly in order to use it well. I want to start with the one I know better: Singer 211 U566A It stitch leather well and I've done interesting things. I've found the service manual online but it does not say what maximum thread size I can use. So the question is: what maximum thread size can I use? I hope you all understand my english.
