  1. Now for the other picture showing new hardware and re-stitching.
  2. Been nosing around Leather Worker's for a little while picking up tips and ideas. Decided to join in to see if I can gather a little more. I'm new to leather work, of course, but with some spare time, I decided to give horse tack repair a go. Since we have horses, as well as a lot of our friends, it just seemed like the natural course to take as a start. After a lot of Google, I bought some JJ needles, some .8 and 1.0 tiger thread, built a stitching pony, and attempted my first repair / restoration. The original owner of the property we bought was a horse person and he left some unused and slightly abused and neglected tack in the barn. So my first victim is a Billy Cook 911 roper's breast collar. Let me know what you think of the before and after pictures. I know that the tug straps and drop leg need replacing, but I have replaced all the old corroded hardware.
