  1. More than likely going to be buying this one.. not real sure how the model tag is deciphered? Any other comments are welcome, she has been used 145-6/1-2160 H3LMNP
  2. One thing I see bad, is the mount for the bar is pretty damn close as the material will go by.. almost like it's directly in front
  3. Yes, don't need anymore of those.. the one I have for carpet base can run up to 60' a minute..I've got it set up to about 3/4 that amount.. had it for 20 years ..no problems.. I still laugh every time I use it.. thinking hope that needle don't get deflected and hit something it ain't supposed too!! Here's a short video on a NC ..union special basically..I got bonds version..same thing.. in the video..they probably running about 40' feet a minute... Same set up as mine it looks like.. believe it or not I think they have a newer model they just came out with and is 75-80' per minute..lol
  4. Thanks wizard for the info.. did find a 245-2... Looked it up..they had a 245-4 and had walking foot???? With the question marks.. and a juki lu-2210n7u.. which I think would be a good candidate ..seen the vibrating olders and almost boxed shape walking foot that extends out..
  5. Wizard.. I've been doing custom inlay work with carpeting for 30 years..which includes but not limited to, edge finishing.. speedbinders based off the 107 with single or double pullers.. even had a 107 mounted on wheels at one time ..multiple portable binders based off of full metal domestic machine with different bars to accept larger needles.. union special servers 81200 class..two and three thread versions. Basically use the speedbinders for 7/8 polybinding.. just looking for something different walking foot wise to put on 1 1/4 folder binding.. and doing blind stitching and wrapping.. this all done a 12'x24' air floation table..the portables come into play when doing onsite, or just to large for the airtable.. leather wise, put on wide leather wraps..leather binding.. and embroidery into the fabrics or leathers I use.. so actually a chainstitch would be nice for a free hand embroidery setup..give it a different look.. I guess any machine could be considered "high speed".. I prefer slow especially when dealing with a heavy Berber 10x10..250lbs floating.. doesn't take much to deflect the needle into the throat plate ..needleguard..hook.. all sorts of noises occur..lol.. onlyy time I might run a machine wide open is doing carpet base 6" wide usually thin.. have a union special strait stitcher for that..60' a minute...
  6. Could it perhaps have been based off the 31k24..31-24? Drop feed; positive reciprocating feed slide under presser foot and above the work. For shade work; felling and seaming fabrics. Speed 2200. (31-24)
  7. I can get the machine around the 200-250 dollar mark
  8. Im thinking of buying this machine.. I do carpet binding, ar table..etc.. for almost 30 years..still using double puller speedbinder.. basically singer 107.. perhaps going to use this to put on wide binding with custom folders and doing blind stitching then folding over.. with just about any material with leather included..have had fun to say the least last 30 years.. constant battle o evenly feeding material ..not to tight..not to loose.. different thickness of soft flooring..backings can be soft..dense..rubber..etc.. easy to sew "small sample" pieces .. then it's a different ballgame with same material but in a 12'x12' floating and trying to feed evenly... Heard my fair share of crunch..bang ..pop..etc..lol..oh my! I can pretty much set the timing on a 107 in my sleep....
  9. Seems like a roller puller would have been easier to do do..maybe they wanted something more positive
