  1. Hello, I am making a backpack and want to put some d-rings on the bag which through videos I think means that I'll be sewing the ends of the leather flap for the d-ring into the seam, but this means I'll be sewing 4 pieces of around 5 oz veg tan leather. I only can sew by hand bc I don't have any machinery. Is this possible and are there any suggestions on how to do this? Should I try a different stitch besides saddle stitch?
  2. Thanks for the response. Yes, I did want to tool a pattern in. I am using the Ecoflow leather dye. I've have trouble with bleeding with this dye before. I buff if after I dye it and then after applying Leathersheen (aerosol). Is it possible to totally seal in the dye by hand?
  3. Hello! I am looking to make a purse out of vegtan leather. I wanted to add an outside pocket but am not sure of the best way to make it look good without it feeling like its just plopped onto the outside. Any thoughts? Also, how do I dye and finish a bag to make it absolutely rain worthy. I don't want to be out in the elements and suddenly have a bleeding bag.
