I'm new here and it is my first topic but hopefully some one could help my out with some questions.
So, firstly short story line.
In past I had bought Pfaff 335 H2 and it was worse nightmare to me because I took it without any knowledge about it.
Main problems were starting from short stitch and up to small bobbin case and crazy clutch motor and of course no reverse.
I don't want to say that is bad machine but my experience with it was just bad.
Any how, I sold Pfaff 335 but bad memories were still from Pfaff 335 in the "head".
I have been using lock stitch machine(Juki 1541 + Jack 513) for a while and love it but since started to sew more and more bags(mainly duffle bags) I find out that cylinder arm or post bed machine is more than needed for my products.
Few weeks ago I saw in domestic website that one company is closing and they're selling many machines.
I went there and saw ~8 machines but only two of them just caught my attention and it was : Adler 68 and Pfaff 1295(owner even didn't knew what model Pfaff is).
Specifically I thought that I'm more interested in Durkop because never had any of Durkop's and heard just great opinions about them but after few stitches and some small talk with owner it turned out that Adler was main machine and condition was just poor including rust on it and etc.
Also short stitch and small bobbin case made some flashbacks to that Pfaff 335 story...
After it I tried to sew with Pfaff 1295 and was surprised how good and smooth it was but had on in some rust/oil spots everywhere.
Seems it was not used for long time.
Stitches forward/backwards were fine, feed dog and plate fits for me, larger bobbin is must for me and etc.
Owner told that they didn't use it because they prefer to work more with Adler.
So without long negotiation I decided to buy it and took it because thought some one else will buy... It was kind of spontaneous purchase.
At home I replace the head and cleaned all machine and appeared that machine wasn't rust at all it was just old oil spots which I removed with oil/fat degreaser(not sure how it is in english).
Condition I should say 9/10 just that crazy clutch motor(Efka variostop) will be changed shortly. I don't like clutch motors in general..
I did small research to check what I bought including Uwe's video and etc - seems decision was right because specifications fits my needs.
Finally, my questions are:
1. Does Pfaff 1245 have/use same walking foot set as Pfaff 1295? Plate seems is different.
2. I would like to replace Efka motor and to have 100 RPM. Today for Juki(JACK 513 with standart pulleys) I go with 200RPM and it;s good but for Pfaff I would like to go 100 RPM.
Do you think smaller pulley on servo motor(4,5) will help me to reach 100RPM if I have 200RPM as standart? Or I should go for Ho Hsing 60 to reach 100 RPM? I'm considering additional speed reducer as last option.
3. What kind of thickest leather it should sew? Lets say if with 150Nm needle and 10 thread(Euro). Also can I use 10(Euro) thread ?
4. Is it good machine(Pfaff 1295) in general? Except Uwe's video and several topics in this group I can't find more information..
5. What would be the market price for this machine? For good or very good condition. I don't want to sell it but still is interesting because I bought in without any "price research".
