Wizcrafts, thanks. I spent a couple days reading through all Landis 16 threads, and countless hours search the web before starting this post.

Here is the stitching.

Uwe, Thanks for the info, I do have it. This machine was sent back to them back in 2004 and came back with a good bill of health. But it sat unused since 2008. It was well taken cared of and was oiled well. I do have the original manual, a reprinted manual and some detailed instructions from Eli. Following the manual and the instructions I checked the awl and needle set up and operation, and every thing looked good. So I moved onto stitching...……..this is were I ran into problems. I will list what is going on and what I have found, and then add photos. 1. As I start to stich things looked good, but the back side was all flagged out, and not tightening up. 2. Then as the needle came down it would only catch a potion of the thread wading it up. a. This caused some of either the bobbin thread or the upper thread to catch in the shuttle gear bringing every thing to a halt! 3. To get the shuttle gear unfouled I had to take the shuttle case off. I took grate care to make sure of the location for proper reassembly. 4. After un-fouling the shuttle gear and reassembling the shuttle case and with the bar covers off I noticed the needle was slightly striking the inside of the loop tacker on the inside. a. I figured I had assembled the shuttle disc and loop taker with the wrong timing. I spent a lot of time checking this in different orientations ending up back in my original position, with the needle slightly striking the inside of the loop taker. 5. I changed the needle, making sure every thing was clean. This didn't change the needle striking the loop taker. So either the shuttle gear is out of timing, or the needle bar is not right. I will try and contact Eli, but with work, and different time zones I haven't made contact as yet. If there is any one who is knowledgeable with the Landis 16, please chime in, thanks.

Hello, I recently bought a Landis 16 and I need some help on setting my machine up. Is there anyone in the Western US that has a Landis 16 that would let me come see their machine in action and give me some pointers. I'm quite mechanically inclined, I'm just a little intimidated, and don't want to screw this thing up. Thank you, Robert
