  1. Hi Constabulay, Video, good idea, I'll do that. For the hook, you're saying I buy a 2nd hook, then I'll adjust the hook tension for the thread size I need, correct? What about a servo motor? Is it a good idea to investment in one?
  2. Hi, I am from Switzerland, Geneva (the city of Elna, so to speak) and I found your website recently, which I found very intersesting and helpfull. So few years ago, I bought a second hand Adler 105-64. I'm still pretty please with it, regardless some issues. But today, because of this, I'm thinking of buying a new one. So, my question is: can she work properly or I'll better get a new one? I am not a professional, I have never seen a pro sewing machin working, and I did not have an oppportunity to test one. I simply don't know what is possible, what to expect to a new pro machine, so I am asking to get some advise from you. But first, few words about me. Firstly I am doing some work like tarpauline bag, back bag, hand bag and so on. To get an idea, look at "Freitag bag". I'm using from light tarp to heavy tarp (400mg/m2 to 650mg/m2). Secondly, I'm doing some clothing, sort of cosplay costumes, anything that I find interesting. My problem is sometimes it doesn't do what I want! For no reason it misses a spot/stich and when I check its already to late to correct. Then, when I do a backward stich, it is difficult to hold the line. I really need to be carreful, slowly, with the hand wheel. The worst thing with the backward, I could have multiple stichs/spot issue, very anoying! I want a machine that can sew multiple layer of heavy tarp with a heavy thread, but I also want to be able to change to sew with a medium thread, easily. So... I have some thought This Adler is a perfect machin, I just need to do some maintenance, and the problems will be fixed. Its an old one, I have to deal with it or get something else. Buying a servo electical motor will help, it will improve my work. Buy a new one, which one? Two options available for me: Pfaff 355 or Adler 669. Lastly, it is also a matter of money, space etc... Not easy for me to decide, so any help or ideas are welcome. Good day to you. aal
