I was super fortunate and found an old singer 29-4 while surfing the face book marketplace. It was dirty, but following a few of the posts and advice here I was able to get it apart cleaned and put back together without any extra parts. The only thing that is wrong with it is that the paddle looking needle bar Thread spring is missing, but the screws that held it there are present although they appear to have been shaved or rubbed flat. I have the bar soaking right now in hopes of being able to grip on to what’s left and twist them out with some pliers. If that doesn’t work I’m going to try grinding a notch into it to try and work it loose with a screw driver. If that doesn’t work, what sort of options am I looking at? Would I have to replace the whole bar?
