how to make an ombre' paracord mecate

Ok, thank you so much! I will have to keep searching because the paracord is 100 feet long and I need to be able to add in colors as I go. -
I am wondering if anyone here knows how to make a color changing mecate. I would like to know how to make them change colors but I'm not sure the best way to join the paracord. Would fusing with a lighter be strong enough or does anyone know of a way to splice it?
