  1. I have to get another bobbin spring because I have over tightened it.
  2. I can’t understand how it sew so good going straight but somehow looses tension when turning a radius. Check disc spring is holding pressure on thread until needle enters material. Adjustment screw in check disc is just left of center. Also change needle and retreaded with no help.
  3. Any suggestions on how to resolve this? While sewing leather in a straight line it sews perfectly but at random times on radius it starts loosing tension on bottom. Makes a slight noise when it’s starts. Thanks for any help.
  4. I have watched that video. My problem is the whole driving shaft is moving side to side about 1/8" while moving the big gear. Not sure how to eliminate this.
  5. While setting my consew 225 hook timing i losen the screws on hook timing gear and started lightly tapping with hammer with wooden block and the whole shaft moved. It will move left and right about 1/8" to 3/16" What do i need to adjust to stop the driving shaft from moving? Thanks for any help on this. Charlie
  6. I have read some post on here about a needle bar conversion for the early model 51w sewing machine but not sure which needle bar will work. Can anyone help me with part no. of needle bar and model number?
  7. Thanks cowboybob. That kind of what I figured. The belt on it now seems tight. Have you ever heard of a belt jumping teeth? I have already took small file to outside of teeth. I get my Dremel out and cleanup the sides of teeth.
  8. I though a picture might help.
  9. I have a Consew 225 that someone put a couple chisel punch marks on the sides of every tooth. It have a new belt and seems tight. I don’t understand why this was done. A little history - The safety clutch was seized up and was not trip even with a pair pliers on lower shaft. Removed it and cleaned up. After this worked great. So good that changing stitch length caused it to trip. I fixed this by loosing Allen screws a little on stitch length assembly. Everything works great now with no problems. My questions are, why would someone put chisel punch marks on the edge on every tooth of safety clutch, will these marks harm belt, do y’all think I need to change safety clutch? Thanks for any incite on this
