  1. Hi guys, I'm hoping you can help me decide on what machine / dealer would be best for my circumstance and location. I'm in upstate NY and not too far from Joey Leather Machines in East Berlin, Pa. It looks like he's is caring a Kolam 1341 starting at $3,000 which I imagine is a clone of the Juki 1341. Or I could pay the shipping from Leather Machine Co and get the Cobra 26 for around the same price I imagine. (though I haven't actually checked shipping rates). My other next closest option would be getting a Cowboy cb341 from Toledo Industrial Sewing Machines which I think is somewhere around $2700 right now. Would there be any reason to get the Cobra 26 over the cb341 especially considering that I travel to the Toledo area regularly to see family? The Kolam 1341 would be based off a newer model machine and Joey is closer to me than Toledo Industrial / Leather Machine Co. My main concern with the 1341 is cost and availability of parts in comparison to the older 341 style machines. What have your all's experience been with maintaining and procuring parts for 1341 style machines vs the 341 models? Looking forward to your comments,
  2. I have been looking casually for a machine and came across a singer 111w155 for $300 in working order. It has the original clutch motor but I would plan on upgrading it to a servo if I end up buying it. I don't plan on this being my only machine long-term but would like something that can handle light to midw-weight chrome tan leathers as well as canvas. I would use this machine mainly for bags (10-12oz chrome tan total thickness) but would also be thrilled if I could do dress belts with 3-5oz chrome tan on the top and a 5-6oz veg for the backing. I realize that the 111w155 doesn't have reverse, but I don't mind finishing the stitch by hand. Would this machine suite the needs I've listed here and what is your all's opinion about the price?
  3. Hello all, I have been on the look out for a cheap machine to kick start my small leather business and happened to come across this machine in my area. Unfortunately, I am unable to find any information online about this machine based on the pictures that were given. The owner claims it can sew leather (of course) but I am doubtful without knowing more. Does anyone have any information regarding this Consew/Brother Model 80? Thanks for the help!
