  1. Yea I like the idea of the consew with the knob and I feel like the servo will make it much slower compared to this clutch motor but the speed reducer will probably make it that much more badass. I also like the looks of the outlaw stitcher for my thick stuff and keep the 111 for wallets and the such. I just don’t feel confident enough to use it on a customer’s project so I’m still hand stitching. But I feel like at least the servo will be a huge upgrade from where I’m at
  2. Im getting a servo for my 111w but my question is, what belt do I need to order with it? I seen that my clutch motor belt will not work with it. Is that correct? And is one motor better than the others? I’d also like to look into a speed reducer but I don’t know which to get or which I need to get. Any suggestions?
  3. That’s about where it’s breaking on mine. I don’t have the small thread guide that’s on the needle shaft which I think is #16. I may need to try and find one somewhere. But I feel like something is off either in the bobbin or in the top thread that’s making it sew like in the picture.
  4. It’s doing it again tonight and I have noticed that the bobbin when set and coming up thru the feed dog hole, is very loose. Like no real tension at all. The top thread has tension. My question is, how do you tighten the bobbin tension? The only thing I remove from the bobbin assembly is the bobbin itself, so I can’t do the drop test. It just falls straight to the floor. Something is off. And there’s a great chance that it’s me!
  5. Awesome thanks! I’ll try that this evening and thanks for the @ tip!
  6. Kgg: what’s the drop test for checking bobbin tension? I’ll try and find a video on it but I haven’t heard of that yet thanks!
  7. That threading tip is great I’ll def start doing that, and both threads are supposed to be 138 and I used the same needle all along it’s a 23. I am almost positive it’s Chinese thread so that could be a thing. My thread I use to hand stitch is .8 tiger thread but it’s a lot thicker than this 138. Does tiger have a 138 machine thread? I’d love to use that. And I say 138 cause I was told that’s about as big as my 111w can handle
  8. I swapped back to the top thread and re wound the bobbin and it sewed fine. I’m thinking fibersport was right it was probably the bobbin but I will put the new thread back on this evening and try again. All my thread is 138 and the needle is a 23 so everything should be consistent with one another
  9. Hey I got new thread and put it on the top and filled a bobbin for the bottom and started to sew and noticed the top stitch looked off. And every time I go to pull both pieces of thread out to cut, the top thread breaks. Almost every time. The bottom side stitch still looks good but I’ll add a pic of what the top looks like. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I know it’s probably on me. It was sewing great yesterday!
  10. Awesome thanks for the help! I’m trying to figure my way around this machine!
  11. I have a 111w153 and I think I have the original foot on the machine, but my question is what’s the difference in all the different feet? Iv seen welting feet, piping feet and left and right edge feet. Would the left and right edge feet help with belts and the like?
  12. The numbers start at 5 and I took it right above 5 and it made the stitches longer but if I set it dead on 5 then it’s more like 8 or so maybe the numbers are off I’ll keep fooling around with it.
  13. Ok I will try that but another thing is that the thickness of the leather will vary your stitch length as well is that correct? I was going between thickness’s and not adjusting the machine
  14. Hey so I picked up the 111w153 and I know to push and hold the button on the left and turn your wheel and then release when at the desired number. And I have set it at 5 and let the button loose, but then it don’t sew at that length. It’s much tighter. Is the number supposed to change as the wheel turns just regularly? Or is something wrong with it? Any help would be appreciated
