  1. Here is a youtube video of a 1245. It helped me set up my 145. It may be similar to your 545
  2. I had the same problems. Most of the feet I tried needed some work. A few worked great out of the box. Different brands seemed to make a difference. Look for the logo stamped on the feet. It seemed to me that the ones I paid a little more for and were usa based sellers were better quality and fit.
  3. These are not leather machines but there seems to be alot of sewing machine knowledge here so I thought I would ask. What are the differences betweeen a pfaff 120 and a 142? I picked up one of each at a auction for parts. They seem to be very similar. both have the 720 split needle bar option. I was looking for spare parts for the 145 in my other post and these came up at auction near me. I have taken the parts that I wanted off of the machines and I think I have enough parts left to fix one of these and I don't know if one would be favorable over the other.
  4. I did have to raise it up. It is just about maxed out. The needle set screw "almost" hits the needle bar frame. It looks like there is a notch in the frame for the needle set screw to go up into but the replacement needle bar has the screw in a different place. Oh well, it works for now. Thanks for all of your help.
  5. The MTx190 needles came in mail today. I put one in and adjusted the needle bar. It works fine. It has enough clearance. I think the 190 needles will fix the problem. Thanks for all of the help. Keith
  6. This is the better fitting "zipper" foot: https://www.ebay.com/itm/232028852110?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=CBjV0tQiRna&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=GyD8UnwyQ-C&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  7. Not condescending at all. I appreciate all of the help. This is the foot that hits the needle bar https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GRQ7MVW?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I have ordered the 190 needles to try. The other presser feet that were a bad fit were these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R1W5C4G?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details They will work, but they are just low quality. They are the CKPSMS brand. The double toe seemed to be the worst. I had to grind clearance in the rear of the outside foot. Two of outside feet had screw holes that were too small. I hand enlarge the holes to get the presser bar sholder screw to fit. All of the inside feet mounting holes are oversized and a sloppy fit. I ordered another single toe foot from ebay. I was another brand. I don't know what brand, but it has a diamond shaped logo with triangles inside on the parts. Both of the parts fit much better. Does anybody know what brand has the diamond logo?
  8. My 145 problems continue. Its a 145 6/1 H3 CLMNP When I bought the machine it had a broken welting foot on it and a broken but working needle bar along with all of the other problems. (In hind sight this should have been a clue) I purchased a set of presser feet from amazon. Of course they didn't fit correctly. With a little bit of grinding and polishing they sort of fit and work. I replaced the needle bar and adjusted it for the 134/35 needles that the manual calls for. It seems to sew ok. Then I purchased a welting foot. With the presser foot raised, the needle bar hits the top of the outside foot. If I adjust the needle bar up so that it doesn't hit I'm pretty sure the hook will not catch the thread. So do I switch to the MTX 190 needles and adjust the needle bar? (I'm not sure this will gain enought clearance) I don't currently have any MTX190 needles and have already purchased several 135/35 needles. Or modify the chinese welting foot? With the fitment of the other set of feet I question the dimensions of the welting foot. It looks like I would have to grind quite a bit off of the top of the foot and bevel the inside. Thanks for reading, Keith
  9. It looks like P 16 is just the speed. When in programming p 16 is the current rpms. I can set it to another number and store it, then its the speed when I exit programming. So it looks like its just sets the current rpms.
  10. Thanks for the video. On the one I received, p16 is available in the P+ regular menu. It is set to 1000. I didn't have much time yesterday to try it, but I tried lowering it to 250 and didn't see much of a difference. I put it back to 1000 for now. The manual doesn't have it documented. There are also other parameters that are not documented in the manual. They were all set to 0. I should have more time to mess with it next week. Keith
  11. I purchased a cheap 550w servo motor on amazon. The paperwork that came with it has most parameters but not some. Somewhere I read reference to parameter P16 but I can't find it now. I thought I read it had to do with torque at lower speeds Anybody know what parameter 16 is? Or have a list of parameters for this servo? Thanks, Keith
  12. Here is a before and after picture. I couldn't help myself this evening. I took the broken one out. Then cut a piece of 4mm round bar and put it in the center of the presser bar. Its hollow. Then silver soldered it back together. It works, but I would still like to replace it with a new one. I may also need the top bushing and bearings/retainer. I will keep a eye on ebay. So far I haven't found one.
  13. Hello Everyone. First post, and of course I am looking for some help with something. I am upgrading (I think :-) from a chineses shoe patcher. I have recently purchased a pfaff 145 H3 6/1 C LMNP that needs repair. The macine has some damage. The first thing I want to fix is the presser foot bar is broken. The top one inch or so is broken off. I have the broken piece. I would like to replace it, but can't find one listed for sale on the internet. From looking at the parts manuals I think it is part 91-019 651-92. It has the flat spring type presser bar. Does anybod know where one would be available? New or good used one is ok with me. Second option would be to TIG weld the borken piece back or make something for the top. Maybe a third option would be to switch to the spring type bar and bushing and top? I don't know. If anyone has experience with this please post. Thanks for your help, Keith
