Members SalsaJoe Posted November 30, 2023 Members Report Posted November 30, 2023 Hi, fellow sewers. I've got a Pfaff 138-6. iI's new to me and has what's called a cording foot which is a twin needle. It looks like the last owner was just running a single needle on the right side but this does not allow for it to zig zag correctly. I've done a decent amount of research and it looks like I will need to replace the needle bar, feed dog and plate. All the parts I've found BUT the needle bar. Hoping someone might know if A) in fact I do need to replace the bar, can I use one from another model and if not any dealers in the US that might have one. thanks in advance for the help Quote
Members SalsaJoe Posted December 2, 2023 Author Members Report Posted December 2, 2023 I know the 138 isn't a super popular model and I'm a new member to the form so I thought I'd update for anyone in the future. I've used this site for many other machines and it a great resource. I contacted Dürkopp Adler America in Atlanta and it looks like many of the parts for the 138 are no longer made in Germany, but I was lucky enough to find a used 138 needle bar on ebay with needle clamp so I should have what I need to get this back to standard needle setup. I've never worked on Pfaff 138, most of my experience is with Japanese machines. If anyone has a service manual for the 138 or link to info on changing out a needle bar please let me know. Quote
