Members Oscar B Posted March 20, 2007 Members Report Posted March 20, 2007 I want to make my project look more finished, and was hoping someone could tell me how much more material you leave for a rolled over edge? Do you add more space when there are different thickness? Lining, and pockets then back to lining, as would like a even line on the inside of project. Know this takes a lot of skiving, but the finished project is worth the extra work. Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Forget about the ones who don't. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would most likely be worth it."
Moderator bruce johnson Posted March 20, 2007 Moderator Report Posted March 20, 2007 Oscar, Depending in thickness of the edge, I allow 3/4 to 1" of extra to wrap around the edge. You are RIGHT, it is a heck of a lot of skiving, and you really say some bad stuff when you skive through an edge. I am headed to Los Angeles on Friday to check out bell knife skivers some more. I can sure see the advantages for a lot of what I do. Once I use one for a while I will share my experiences.
