mbirnios Report post Posted February 25, 2008 Hi there! My name is Mariano, and I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I'm not really a leatherworking person, but instead a woodworking one. On the other hand, I have some ideas for start using the beauty of leather in some small projects, like chests, small boxes, etc. I also like and enjoy old tools.. and as I do this as my hobby, I can take the time to use them. My question is... the other day I picked up a strange tool. I tought it was some kind of rare hand plane for woodworking.. but mmh... it doesn't really looks like. The "bed angle" for the iron is too steep. I was wondering.. may this tool be related in some way to leather working? Any info on it is very apperiacted! Thanks a ton! abn Report post Posted February 25, 2008 Mariano, I can't help you identify your mystery tool, but I did want to take the opportunity to welcome you to Leatherworker.net. There are lots of very helpful people here to assist you as you get started with leathercraft. As an aside, I'll be travelling to Buenos Aires later this year, and really look forward to visiting your wonderful city. In addition to being a beautiful place to see, it has quite a tradition in leatherwork, as well! ¡Un saludo y bienvenido! Alex
