taw43 Report post Posted February 1, 2009 I have been using a Singer slant needle for sewing light leather, one night a neighbor seen me using it and asked if I would be intrested in a larger one. Yesterday he dropped off a 29-4, it need a good cleaning (gummy oil). Now to my questions, it needs a new presser foot and needles. Also is there any thing else I should get to go with it? Any ideas where parts can be found?

Any ideas where parts can be found? Did you get the treadle unit? If so you will need a leather belt. You will also need a needle threader to push the thread down the needle bar assembly. It is a long thin piece of straight wire with a little v at the end. You will also need thread and don't forget sewing machine oil! You can get parts on EBay, at Campbell Bosworth, shoesystemsplus.com, horsenharness.com, pilgrimshoemachine.com, and many other industrial sewing repair shops. Parts are not hard to find for this machine.
taw43 Report post Posted February 2, 2009 Thank you for the reply Bree. The machine has a treadle as well as a home made motor hook-up. Your information will be a lot of help.
