Scott1952 Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 Does anyone use artificial Sinew for stitching their holsters? I have used waxed nylon but never sinew. I happen to have come into a quantity of it and have no experience at all with it. Thanks Scott Quote
Members Gilligan Posted February 17, 2009 Members Report Posted February 17, 2009 works well if not used under extreme tension. i'd suggest double stitching for anything that will be used regurarly. It will give a "native american" look according to some ppl. the picture is a sheath that i stiched together for one of my dad's knives. Quote
Members Rayban Posted February 18, 2009 Members Report Posted February 18, 2009 I use it for most all my hand stitching, I like the rustic look of it... Quote
Members TrooperChuck Posted February 18, 2009 Members Report Posted February 18, 2009 Scott: I sometimes use artificial sinew for the same reasons already mentioned... it gives a more rustic appearance to some items, which I like. Rayban: Awesome looking rig! Quote
Scott1952 Posted February 19, 2009 Author Report Posted February 19, 2009 Thanks for the replys I'll give it a try on my next holster. Rayban I agree, a beautiful rig. Quote
Members Gilligan Posted February 19, 2009 Members Report Posted February 19, 2009 Rayban, it's killing me to know if that's a real picture or a digital overlay. not to be intrusive, but just wondering.. Quote
Members Rayban Posted February 19, 2009 Members Report Posted February 19, 2009 (edited) Rayban, it's killing me to know if that's a real picture or a digital overlay. not to be intrusive, but just wondering.. That's the real deal.....I couldn't do a digital overlay if my life depended on it... Specs: Canon Rebel Digital, stood on top of the picnic table, took one last swig of beer, aimed, and shot.....flash went off too for them bright highlights....I guess.....
