Even then, a servo motor and a reducer are a must. I have the Consew 206RB5, and even with a servo motor, it won't sew 2 layers of 8-9oz. without groaning. The one I use is a 206RB-1 and it will not lift any higher than 7/16" at maximum. A good medium weight machine, with large capacity bobbin.
