The story; This is a copy of a Vargas girl that a friend wants on a purse..so am doing a test run to see if I can pull it off before ruining a purse kit. It's coming along maybe... but I get the "deer in the headlights" feeling when I look at the hair. I am very unsure of how to deal with it, it kinda just lays there now. Please give me some suggestions.. I know the real key to this turning out will be the "finishing" so I'll be back to ask how to do that.. Thanks in advance. kiwidownunder Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Hello there Jamzdean, What I suggest is that you use a modelling tool and thinking of real hair and how it falls you do light lines at her head, going to heavier lines towards the ends of the hair. Form the depth by making some places pushed in as inverted tooling. This will make in hair look thick and flowing. DO NOT CUT the hair with your knife. Thank you for the suggestion I'll mess around with the modeling tool. jamzdean, I wouldn't worry about the light cuts in the hair. I use a swivel knife and a scalpel to cut hairlines. My suggestion would be to also let a little of the hair fall down over the side of the leg cause hair won't lay on a rounded leg like that unless it's bunched between the legs while they're held together.
