frontpost Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 I'm making the Stohlman draw down stand and have all the wood parts, but need a draw down strap 12/14 oz. 9 1/2" x 44". The problem is I don't have 12/14 oz. skirting leather. Is there anyone out there that could cut me a blank, I only do repair work now and may never need a back or side of 12/14 oz. Also I want to make a finessing tool and need a small scrap of 16 oz. this is on page 83 vol. 1 of the stohlman encyclopedia. the scrap needs to be hand size. This tool finishes saddle strings. Not asking for a hand out, just a going price plus shipping. Thanks, Tim Quote What a waste it is to lose one's mind. Or not to have a mind is being very wasteful. Members mulefool Posted June 23, 2009 Members Report Posted June 23, 2009 You know I don't think you really need the leather to be that thick. I've used the same draw down strap for going on 25 years, and I'd say it's about 7-8 oz, maybe less. Chris Quote www.horseandmulegear.com
