Members XDholster Posted July 21, 2009 Members Report Posted July 21, 2009 This is my first holster made from leather. I posted on the getting started and thought yall might have some critique for me. 26* cant and the belt loops are a little long. Thanks! Quote
Members WaG35 Posted July 21, 2009 Members Report Posted July 21, 2009 That is cool. How did you get that finish? Quote
Members XDholster Posted July 21, 2009 Author Members Report Posted July 21, 2009 Thanks. I have a very expensive printer at work that air brushes on cloroplast. I cut out the cloroplast for the desired size and sent it through. It will print anything on leather, but were still messing with the colors because it is used to printing on white. Quote
Members dickf Posted July 22, 2009 Members Report Posted July 22, 2009 Looks like a take on mine! I do have a question though - was the ink much darker before you wet molded the holster? I would be concerned that it's a semi-permanent finish, as it's ink and not leather dye, and probably doesn't have the penetration. Here's mine from early March: Good luck! Members XDholster Posted August 6, 2009 Author Members Report Posted August 6, 2009 The ink was the same color after the molding. The reason for the difference in color is due to the fact that the printer is configured to print on white not tan. You make one mighty fine holster myfriend! Are you using any clips with that holster? Quote
Members dickf Posted August 7, 2009 Members Report Posted August 7, 2009 Thanks - yeah I attached some Kydex clips and have alternate leather loops for it. The holster is no longer in my possesion, though! Good luck with this - I'm interested to see the results! Quote US GUNLEATHER www.usgunleather.com twitter.com/usgunleather facebook.com/USGUNLEATHER
