azrider Report post Posted July 23, 2009 I bought a seat pan just to see if I could make something nice. As I am looking at many of the seats built on pans, it looks like the bottom piece of leather is riveted to the pan. So the pan is drilled for the rivets, the bottom piece is attached, and then the top piece is laced to the bottom piece?
Ian Report post Posted July 23, 2009 AZ, I do it a tad differently than some of the other guys. After puching the holes for the bolts, I glue it to the underside of the pan,so rivets aren't needed - once it's laced or stiched on, it won't go anywhere. Here are a couple of pictures of undersides the way I do them
azrider Report post Posted July 23, 2009 The pan I am working with is 12 inches wide. Is that about the same size as yours? I have two bolts for the spring, and two down the center of the nose for the hinge to go around.
