I just started reading the "Saddles" book by Russel H. Beatie and the 3 Stohlman saddlemaking volumes. I started Volume #1 slowly, but I can see that I will have to read it again.

I've got a few more coming in by next month. I will share my thoughts with you all on what I think about them.

What kicked this venture into learning about saddles and making them was a recent estate find that I have been quietly working on. About a month ago, I found a small floral designed "signed" Ray Pohja saddle. It was very interesting, but the seller had no idea who Pohja was and mispronounced his name quite a few times. After securing the saddle in transit, I communicated with the seller as to who Ray Pohja was, his status and what he meant to our community. He was happy that the saddle went to someone that will appreciate it.

Anyways, when I get some time off from work, time away from junior varsity football with my son and dance lessons with my daughter, I will take a photograph to show it off.

Good night all!

Greetings from Central Texas!
