I have what appears to be an older saddle more than likely mid 20th century made. The saddle is fully tooled and hand carved rather than stamped. It is not a highback, but does have a duck bill horn. It is double rigged with brass dees. The saddlemaker marked the nearside latigo keeper LAMB, and there is a horse tooled onto the offside latigo keeper. The saddle's leather is heavy and softened from use, and there is some surface cracking in the leather. This old saddle rides like a dream and is much better built than our modern "name brand" saddles. Any clue on who would have made this old thing? Email me for photos

Cheers

Look up "Nathan Lamb" for comparison or post a picture with a close-up of the mark. Lamb is a name that crops up fairly frequently, could also be Lamb Saddlery from Ky. Does your saddle have a number on it?
