Devona Report post Posted November 12, 2009 Good day, May I ask if anyone knows where to have a Tippmann Aerostich leather sewing machine repaired in South East Florida? Thank you.
Denster Report post Posted November 12, 2009 The Aerostitch is a pretty simplistic machine and most repairs can be done by the user. If you would care to state what the malfunction is there are several Aerostitch knowledgeable folks here who can diagnose the problem and give you a direction to go. Tippmann still has all the parts and their techs will walk you through installation. Really they will! If it is a major problem shipping it back to Tippmann for a rebuild is the best bet. Shipping both ways would be about $120 total UPS and they will completely rebuild and warranty for $150. Hope this helps.
Devona Report post Posted November 13, 2009 Thank you. I'm looking to help my dad, and not really familiar with the Aerostitch. The problem is when the air is turned on, the sewing needle shaft will not move even stepping on the foot pedal. He took apart the foot pedal, cleaned it and put it back together. After it was cleaned, it ran about 4 to 5 cycles and then stopped completely. Something is blocking the air. Do you think it may be plugged air hoses? The next plan was to replace the hoses. It's not a broken sm-32-2 spring, they're both intact. I was sewing along and the needle paused on 1 stitch, then after a moment it kept going for a few more stitches then stopped completely.
