How Do I Store Leather

I have bought several hides because i liked them but i am not sure when i will begin using them - Is there anything special to storing them for a while - I am quite new to this, I work in my basement, have a dehumidifier running and they are rolled on a shelf - anything special that I need to do - or will they sit there indefinably and be good to go when I want to begin work?
