What Is A Good Beginner Machine?

Hi all,

I have been looking on EBAY at some of the old industrial machines that have been reconditioned. Looks like I may be able to get one for around $150 with free shipping. Is there a brand you recommend? or is it a bad idea to get an old used one from the 50's or 60's?

Sigh...I read through more of the forums about sewing machines...all I can say is nevermind...hehe...I wasn't looking at the right kind on Ebay. I realize the ones for leather are at least twice that and prolly more.

Maybe next year's tax return?
