How To Store Unused Leather?

Hi guys and gals! I have just about got my shop set up in my garage. Sadly, there is just no room in the house for it. Another sad thing, my garage has no heat (yet?) or A/C! I live in MN and it can get HOT and Sticky some days. I'm curious if I need to try to find a place to store my unused leather in the house where it is dry and cool.... or can it be left in the garage, which is hot during the days and humid sometimes. Will the humidity hurt the leather or would it be ok? I can figure out a place in the house to store it if need be.

Not sure about humidity since I live in AZ but I store my sides in the garage which is probably 120 degrees some days. I built a box with 4'x8'x3/4" plywood bottom, 2x6 sides and masonite lid that I hung from the rafters, I did that to keep the leather flat and the light out. Works good for me, some leather has been in there a couple years and still good and same color as when I bought it.

I'm in the garage, too. Built a rack up in the attic. 5 large slatted shelves big enough for a side to lay flat. Covered on all sides with heavy visqueen to keep dust off. I'm concerned that I need to get a couple of vents inthe roof peaks, but so far it seems to work ok.

Leather I'm cutting from I keep rolled up in a smaller shelf in the shop area.

Be super careful about even slightly damp environments! I had some patent leather develop mildew on it from being stored too closely to the rest of my hides! I have actually been considering wrapping each hide in butcher paper to see if that might help cut down on mildew and color transfer on lighter colored hides.
