Removing Scuffs/nail Marks On Bridle

Hey all,

I'm working on wet forming some bridle leather. After I have formed the components and the leather is dry, I have stitched the piece together. I ended up with a load of nailmarks and other scuffs on the leather. Any advice as to how I could remove these markings?
