Members JoshDuvall Posted July 13, 2010 Members Report Posted July 13, 2010 I was just curious as to what size edgers y'all use? I'm currently using a #1 from Weaver but just got a #3 and I'm not sure if I like how big it is. I know different companies size their edgers different but do you guys like the look of a more rounded edge or squared? p.s. - I'm using 7/8 oz leather Quote Josh Duvall
Ambassador abn Posted July 13, 2010 Ambassador Report Posted July 13, 2010 I've always considered a #2 to be the best all-around size for an edger. Most stuff I do is in 4-5 oz. leather, sometimes doubled over. A #1 has always felt too small, and a #3 too large, but that's just my opinion! Quote

dirtclod Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 I use a 2, 3, 4, and 6. The 2 and 3 i use most of the time. But the 4 and 6 are really nice for when i need a nice round edge on something real thick. Quote I'm old enough to know that i don't know everything.
Members BOOMSTICKHolsters Posted July 14, 2010 Members Report Posted July 14, 2010 Different brands use different sizes for their numbers, which complicates things a little. With the Weaver edgers, I use a #2 for single layers from 6 to 8 oz. and a #4 for double layered areas. Quote
Members Deanimator Posted July 15, 2010 Members Report Posted July 15, 2010 At the recommendation of the guy at Tandy, I bought a #3. Initially I wasn't that happy with the results. Now I'm kind of ambivalent. I'm leaning toward a #2. Quote "When I was young, I looked like Al Capone but I lacked his compassion." - Oscar Levant.
