JerryW Report post Posted July 25, 2010 I recently purchased a pair of red wing work boots made with smooth leather. I have cared for them by conditioning weekly with mink oil, and using shoe trees everyday. I have even bought an electric buffer. They were bound to get scratched, but after using the mink oil (for all colors) the scratches on the toe box darkened. Is there a way to get the color back and/or remove the scratches?
