Members PensacolaJim Posted August 28, 2010 Members Report Posted August 28, 2010 Ok, this is amy first post, not sure if I did it right. I"m not satisfied with my water base dyes so I am thinking of switching to Fiebings. I found that sewwhatsupplies.com sells it for 2.99 for 4 oz bottles. Best price I can find. I want to buy an assortment of colors, not sure which ones to get yet. I want to know the differance between Black and USMC Black. Any input would be appreciated, Thank you, Jim Quote
Members Studio-N Posted August 28, 2010 Members Report Posted August 28, 2010 USMC BLK is termed as a blue-black color. It has a nice sheen when making military or police garb. The BLK dye is a brown-black color for a very opaque dark black. Quote
Members RunningRoan Posted August 29, 2010 Members Report Posted August 29, 2010 I switched from water-based dyes to Fiebings too and have been very happy. I seem to be getting more even results from the oil dye as opposed to the leather dye. I haven't figured out why yet. Quote

Any input would be appreciated, Thank you, Jim I have used Feibing's dyes for over 30 years now, and have no reason to change. I primarily use their Professional Oil dyes. They work well through my airbrush and produce very even and predictable color to my leather holsters. Mike Quote
