rawhidehorsetack Report post Posted November 22, 2010 I have seen braided rawhide knife sheaths with an integral belt loop in western stores, I would love to braid one, but am not sure what technique is used to form the integral belt loop? Any suggestions or experience with this? Thanks in advance for any comments or advice.
CWR Report post Posted November 22, 2010 Just take two strings and run them under a couple of strings at the top of the sheath, this will give you four strings now. Do a four strand flat braid the length required for your belt loop. Pull the ends through a couple of strings at the bottom and back braid it a few passes to hold it secure. The main thing is to cut your strings long enough. It takes more than you think. Good luck, CW
