Moulding Fine Line Details

Recommended Posts

Hello , all and I hope everyone one had a good holiday. My question is in reference to wet moulding on the holster. When I wet formed on my larger automatic the detail came out bold and well highlighted (IMO), I was trying do accomplish the same thing on a much smaller weapon. My weapon is a Bersa .45 Ultra Compact. The other weapon is a SigP230, I can get good detail around trigger guard, chamber indent. The problem I have is that the slide on the Sig is so fine machined I can't get the indent to get a straight line. I'll have to send pics unless someone can figure out what I mean.

place pistol in holster, place holster in plastic bag, roll with rolling pin, chase the lines with a modeling tool or slicker. If you keep it in the plastic bag, you can rub the lines in without causing friction burnishing on the leather.

Please more information on the use of a rolling pin.

Thanks in advance
